Being A Staff Member at Camp

The best job you will ever have!

Working as a staff member at Camp Fuller is a unique experience that will provide you with skills, relationships and a sense of fulfillment that few other summer jobs will. Working at summer camp creates the following opportunities:

  1. Leadership Development - how to influence and motivate others in a community to follow you and learn from you. Learning when to lead, when to follow, and when to advocate for what you believe in

  2. Problem Solving and Critical Thinking - being able to solve problems with adults has its challenges, but solving youth and peer challenges will prepare you for whatever comes next!

  3. Creating Thinking and Programming - running an activity for a group of kids or motivating an entire division to engage in a make believe game of giants vs wizards vs elves is not the piece of cake you may think it is!

  4. Time Management and Flexibility - how long does it take to rig a sail boat? If you are planning a game that you want to last for an hour but you need help at one specific part of it, when do you tell the help to arrive? If something doesn’t go to plan how do you adjust? Daily occurrences at camp!

  5. Self Care - you will be on 24 hours a day / 6 days a week as a camp staff member. Learning how to prevent burn out, take care of yourself, and ensure you are providing a great experiences for your campers is essential to success!
